Members elected to the AOCA Board of Directors were:
Randy Groover – Texaco Xpress Lube MS
Harold Smith – Express Lube TX (and our 2009 co-operator of the year)
Sean Krassman – The Oil Drop, Calgary AB (and only the second Canadian ever elected to the board)
These men join Pat Wirth, Ricky Price, Scotti Lee and Ward Huntley as regular board members.
The new associate member of the board is David Prange of QMI. He joins Jeff Pauly of Sound Billing as associate members. Plus, in a change to the AOCA bylaws, both associate members will now be full voting members, giving them a vote in all board decisions. Previously, associate members could provide input, but could not vote on matters.
One other thing we learned at the AOCA Membership Meeting is that the association is on very sound financial footing. iFLEX 2010 is expected to more than pay for itself, and the association’s investments have rebounded nicely after a lackluster 2009. As of March 31, the association had some $625,000 in the bank, plus another $197,000 in accounts receivable. To paraphrase Mark Twain, rumors of the association’s demise were premature!
