Interesting tidbit in the Jobber’s World newsletter about Toyota moving to 0W-20 synthetic motor oil for its future vehicles (scroll to the bottom of the newsletter for the article). It’s done in the name of fuel efficiency, but how will Toyota drivers respond to $100 oil changes?

  1. The additives that are contained in the oil begin to fail in neutralizing the numerous acids contained within the engine. When oil becomes old and overworked, substances such as water and byproducts of the internal combustion may begin corroding various parts of the engine.
