Arrived in Atlanta this morning for the AOCA Expo. In what proved to be one of the liveliest meetings in recent memory, AOCA members elected three new board members…two of whom were nominations from the floor. Board members Doug Kline and Dave Jensen completed their terms, while board member Glenn Morris was up for re-election. Longtime AOCA veterans Dan Mason and Rick Price had been nominated for the open posts, but floor nominations added Scotti Lee and Pat Wirth to the mix, and in somewhat of a surprise, Price, Lee and Wirth were elected to the AOCA board.

Not a huge crowd in Atlanta, but there is an air of excitement and activism often missing from previous shows. Operators are looking for answers to tough questions, and it will be interesting to see how the association responds.

More later.
