According to the German division of market analyst RL Polk, Volkswagen AG is set to pass General Motors as the second-largest automaker in the world, relegating the long-time sales champion to third-largest automaker. Toyota passed GM as the world’s largest automaker last year, ending a decades-long run at the top of the sales charts by the U.S. automaker.
