British-based tabloid The Sun reports here that an obviously wealthy sheikh recently flew his $350,000 Lamborghini from Qatar to Britain — for an oil change! The service itself cost some $6,600 (begging the question why more people can’t drive Lamborghinis — and visit fast lubes from time to time), but transporting the car to and fro ran a cool $37,000-plus. So let’s see, that’s nearly $44,000 for an oil change, or roughly 12.5 percent of the car’s purchase price. At that rate, the oil change cost for a typical $25,000 car would be about $3,100. Wonder what kind of ticket total that would lead to?
