Dex-Cool Lawsuit

Saw a memo from GM to its dealership network today. The memo focused on a settlement GM has proposed to owners of certain model cars that experienced problems with the Dex-Cool coolant. The issues involved the performance of silicon bead/nylon carrier intake manifold gaskets in certain 1995-2004 3.1L, 3.4L and 3.8L V6 engines; deficiencies in the performance of Dex-Cool in those same engines; coolant leaks in 2000-2004 3.8L V6 engines; and Dex-Cool “sludging” in 2000-2004 S-series pickup trucks and SUVs.
