In case you missed it, GM is recalling more than 207,000 1997-2003 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix sedans equipped with 3.8L supercharged V6 engines. GM said the cars can develop oil leaks that can cause fires, and the vehicles should not be parked in garages or carports (or fast lube bays, for that matter).
According to the recall notice, oil can leak onto the exhaust manifold if a driver brakes hard, and if the oil gets hot enough it can catch fire. The problem has reportedly led to 267 fires and six injuries. Owners of these vehicles can take them back to a GM dealer for free repair.
